My very first shoot

This was my very first shoot, my first studio shoot, first model shoot, bascially everything about this was a 1st for me. 4 yrs ago in 2019, I didn’t know a thing, including what I wanted to photograph, how to pose, difference in types of light, depth of field, I wasn’t even sure whether this was going to be a pastime, hobby or an actual job.

So here I am literally 4 yrs to the day since this shoot, and starting to get my photography blog going. I now know some answers to the above questions thankfully, but not all I must state.

The Shoot

Luckily for me I was working with the fabulous model KarenR , who knew it was my first shoot and was great in giving me posing ideas and working with me.

It was also in a studio, which I hadn’t seen before. And bear in mind I hadn’t even taken a photo in a studio before so nothing like jumping in at the deep end. Studio flash, no idea, bounce and fill, no idea. Looking back I was mad to do what I did, but sometimes the best way is to jump straight in with both feet.

About these images

I was told not to post these images now, as I should only post my best or favourite work, but I thought you might find it interesting to see my journey from where I came from and where I am now. I’ll use these blogs to not only show my best work but work in general. Sometimes it will be experimental lighting or concept, or sometimes it’ll be a personal project. Either way, I’ll be uploading lots of images from various shoots over the years as my photography, editing style and abillity evolves.

What I will also ad is is that these images are re-edited. And what I mean about that is I took these images intially, edited, and in lookng back at these image in 2021, I decide to re-edit. This was because I felt my editing eye had improved and it has. I don’t think I’ll be going back again, I need to let it be what it is now and move on, but it’s always good to know where I came from.

So this is point A – The starting place for me, I hope you like and enjoy my journey and images, but if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions or maybe you’d like to book a shoot, please do get in touch.

Thanks for hanging around,

David.
